Sponsor a great community event

2016 will be our 6th Shoreham Family Beach Bonfire and Fireworks event in the last 7 years. Each year this hugely popular local community event has grown with attendances estimated at between 3 & 4,000 and it is now a recognised event on the Shoreham calendar.

As we continue to grow this popular event we can offer the opportunity for a few local businesses to get involved as a sponsor.

Facts and figures

  • 3,000 people attend the bonfire nightThe procession, bonfire and fireworks attract over 3,000 people each year
  • The audience is predominantly the local community, covering all ages but with a distinctly family feel
  • Our website typically gets 10,000 'unique' visits in November
  • Our 2015 Facebook event page got over 20,000 engagements
  • We distribute approximately 5-10,000 leaflets to households across Shoreham
  • We have a signed up mailing list who receive regular newsletters around the bonfire night and other events throughout the year
  • 10,000 leaflets distributed across Shoreham by SeaIn addition to the mailing list, we have active Facebook & Twitter following that also receive regular updates
  • We place posters on sites in Shoreham in October/November
  • The event is regularly attended by Heart FM, as well as the local Coastguard and Fire Service teams (to raise their community profile)
  • The event has been featured each year in the Shoreham Herald
  • Over 10,000 unique web visitors in OctoberThe event management plan is signed off by the Adur Safety Advisory Group (SAG members include fire, police & council) and by Shoreham Port.
  • On the night the event is managed by an experienced event company who liaise with the police to ensure a trouble-free event. We have received only positive feedback from the police each year to date.

We are also happy to consider other opportunities for working together either before, during or after the event.

Every effort will be made to ensure that sponsors are from different sectors.

 

What we would like from sponsors

Not surprisingly we would like financial donation. Depending upon the size of the donation you can either be a main sponsors or a second tier sponsor.

The main sponsor would receive the bigger ad spaces and more opportunity to tailor their requirements. The 2nd tier sponsor would still be great value but with slightly less flexibility.

Main sponsor: £500

2nd tier sponsor: £250

In addition to financial support, we are also open to offers of other assistance such as production of signage, leaflet distribution etc. If you have an idea how to support us please tell us about it.

As a community project, we are keen for sponsors to be from the local community.

Weather and safety

We know our sponsors would only want to be associated with a safe event and so will appreciate that an event held outdoors in November is always subject to the winter weather, with cancellation a possibility - although it has only happened once in 6 years.

Most of the sponsorship benefits are in advance of the night (signages, leaflets, e-marketing etc) and the benefits of the web links and profile on the website remain in place throughout and so any cancellation while disappointing does not siginificantly reduce the value of sponsorship.

Furthermore with so many of our costs being paid in advance, we are not able to offer a sponsorship refund in the event of a cancellation due to weather/safety.
