£500 more raised for Chestnut Tree House by Shoreham Bonfire Society
Another successful Shoreham Bonfire has concluded with the handing over of a cheque for £500 to the local children’s Sussex hospice, Chestnut Tree House.
On what was a challenging year weather wise, it didn’t stop raining all day until after 6pm, we were delighted that the local community came out to support us and that it was such a lovely night.
Our first fundraising goal is always to be able to pay for the whole event including the cost of the fireworks, security and insurance. After that we hope to have collected enough to support our chosen charity and so we are delighted that in 2016 we are able to give £500 to Chestnut Tree House.
We are proud that our family bonfire and fireworks event is self-funding AND has now raised over £2500 for charity and local community groups :o)
Thank you for your support
Shoreham Bonfire is not a commercial enterprise, it’s just a small band of local people who give up their free time to put on a family beach bonfire and fireworks display.
Without the support of the local community it wouldn’t happen, so a big thank you to everyone that got involved and everyone who gave us donations via our collecting buckets.
See you on the 11th November 2017!
Jonathan, Stuart and the Shoreham Bonfire team.
