After the great success of the 2010 Shoreham Bonfire and Fireworks night on the beach we are delighted to announce that we will be back in 2011. And, we can confirm that the date for this years Family Bonfire and Fireworks will be the 12th November 2011.
We hope to make the 2011 even bigger and better but that will require lots of planning, some fundraising and, of course some fun along the way. We will be kicking off some planning meetings in the coming months so if you would like to be involved then join our mailing list and keep an eye on our blog, Facebook or Twitter.
So the 2010 event has come and gone and what a great night it turned out to be. From the great turn out (the Police estimate was over 1,500 on the night) and all the enthusiastic feedback we have received it certainly seems to have been popular and as big a success as we could have hoped for.
Our list of thank you’s could go on for a very long time, so we have put them on the website for all to see… but a heart felt thank you to everyone who contributed to making it such a great night – without you, it would not have happened.
Bigger and better in 2011
With success comes the challenge of doing it even better in 2011. So our next meeting on the 9th of December is to begin the process of planning for next years bonfire, starting with a review of this years event from what worked well to what we may do differently next time.
We will also be giving an overview of the current Society finances and what fundraising events we should tackle in 2011.
So lots to cover and we would like to hear as many views as possible so please come along and give us your input.
If you can’t attend the meeting but would still like to share your views then please contact us.
I look forward to seeing you next Thursday (9th Dec).
Kind regards,
Jonathan.
