We are kicking off the New Year with a catch up, meeting and drink at the Bridge Inn on Tuesday 21st February at 7pm. We can set the date for our 2012 event and have a chat about FUNdraising. There might not be a lot of cash about at the moment but we can still have a get together and a laugh.
Come what may, we want to make this year even better, and you can make it happen.
See you on 21st at the Bridge Inn!

We are delighted to say that the Shoreham Beach Bonfire is built and ready to go tonight. Thanks to everyone who donated wood and their time to help create our bonfire. But, that’s not all, the fireworks have been set up, catering is ready and waiting and the children’s tea cup ride is ready. So all we need now is you.
The Beach Bateria Samba Band will lead tonight’s procession and their will also be a performance by the Shoreham Community Singers near the bonfire.
Only a few days left until the big event which is on the 12th November and so this newsletter contains some important information and messages because we now really need your help.
VOLUNTEERS (marshalls/stewards)
We need as many marshalls/stewards/helpers on the night as possible and, although many of have you have already offered your support, if you know anyone else that can help please invite them along.
All volunteers for the night MUST attend a meeting on Thursday 10th at the Church Hall, Church of Good Shepherd, Shoreham Beach at 7pm. This meeting will include important instructions and the giving out of equipment for the night.
TRAILER OR PICK-UP OWNERS
We need help with picking up road signs, firewood etc and so if have a suitable trailer or Pick-up could you please call 07889 171817.
BONFIRE MATERIALS
If you have firewood and can deliver please do so from 9am Saturday 12th Nov – we can not take delivery before this as we have no storage facilities. If you can’t deliver we will try to pick it up, if you call 07889 171817.
BONFIRE BUILDERS
If you are strong, like a challenge or need a good work out we need your help. We will start building the bonfire at 9am on Saturday 12th and with over 60 pallets to stack with other material there is some serious lifting and moving to be done. Please be at beach opposite the Church of the Good Shepherd, Kings Walk from 9am.
CLEARER UPPERS
We must tidy the beach up the following morning to return it to its pre-fire state so we need as many helpers as possible to come along on Sunday morning. Cleaning up will begin at 9am from the Bonfire site. Please bring a black refuse sack with you and a pair of gardening or hard wearing gloves if you have them.
We neeed help posting Shoreham Bonfire leaflets across Shoreham Beach and Town this coming weekend (22/23 Oct). The leaflets are hugely important to help us raise awareness of the Bonfire and, we hope, to raise some much needed cash to pay for it all.
If you can spare a little bit of time this weekend to post the streets near you that would be fantastic. Jonathan is happy to deliver the fliers to you.
If you can help out can you please contact us via the contact form http://www.shorehambonfire.co.uk/contact.html and we will be in touch about the arrangements.
Thank you to everyone who came along and saw us at the Shoreham Farmers Market this Saturday and of course those that helped making the stall and giving out leaflets.
In a productive morning we gave out thousands of leaflets to local Shoreham by Sea residents and received a very postive reaction to our 2011 plans.
We also gave everyone coming to the stall the the chance to put their name in the hat for the chance to be our ‘Fire Starter’, the official fire countdown person. The lucky winner was Kathryn Matthews who lives on the beach.
